Dr.​ ​John​ ​H.​ ​Rodriguez,​ ​MD​ ​is​ ​an​ ​advanced​ ​laparoscopic​ ​and​ ​bariatric​ ​surgeon​ ​at​ ​the​ ​Cleveland Clinic.​ ​After​ ​general​ ​surgery​ ​training​ ​at​ ​the​ ​Cleveland​ ​Clinic,​ ​Dr.​ ​Rodriguez​ ​completed​ ​a​ ​Flexible Surgical​ ​Endoscopy​ ​and​ ​Minimally​ ​Invasive​ ​Surgery​ ​in​ ​the​ ​same​ ​institution.​ ​He​ ​is​ ​licensed​ ​to practice​ ​medicine​ ​in​ ​the​ ​State​ ​of​ ​Ohio,​ ​and​ ​is​ ​board-certified​ ​by​ ​the​ ​American​ ​Board​ ​of​ ​Surgery. His​ ​specialty​ ​interests​ ​include​ ​minimally​ ​invasive​ ​gastrointestinal​ ​surgery,​ ​surgical​ ​endoscopy, bariatric​ ​surgery,​ ​and​ ​robotic​ ​surgery.

 Dr.​ ​Rodriguez​ ​has​ ​co-authored​ ​many​ ​articles​ ​and​ ​book​ ​chapters​ ​that​ ​have​ ​been​ ​published​ ​in leading​ ​medical​ ​journals.​ ​He​ ​has​ ​participated​ ​in​ ​multiple​ ​national​ ​meetings.​ ​Some​ ​of​ ​his​ ​areas​ ​of research​ ​include​ ​revisional​ ​bariatric​ ​surgery,​ ​minimally​ ​invasive​ ​abdominal​ ​wall​ ​reconstruction, surgical​ ​and​ ​endoscopic​ ​management​ ​of​ ​gastroparesis,​ ​among​ ​other​ ​topics. 

 Dr.​ ​Rodriguez​ ​is​ ​fluent​ ​in​ ​both​ ​English​ ​and​ ​Spanish.​ ​He​ ​participates​ ​actively​ ​in​ ​community outreach​ ​programs​ ​for​ ​underserved​ ​hispanic​ ​populations​ ​in​ ​the​ ​Cleveland​ ​area.
