Step 2: How can the SPs interact with the learners?
Communication Skills
- This type of simulation focuses on practicing the communication that takes place between caregiver and patient. SPs who portray patients in this type of simulation may present in the clothing that their patient profile describes.
Combined (communication skills & physical diagnosis)
- This type of simulation combines communication skills with physical diagnosis skills using Standardized Patients who present wearing gowns in clinical examination rooms. The Standardized Patients are rigorously trained to present specifically according to a detailed case scenario. Affects and/or feedback may be required.
