The American Heart Association (AHA) offers many courses throughout the year, including: ACLS, ACLS EP, Airway, BLS, Heartsaver, NRP and PALS.

Designed and led by highly experienced Cleveland Clinic clinicians, the Fundamentals of Central Venous Access course provides the core skills necessary to perform ultrasound-guided placement of central venous catheters in adult patients. This program will prepare the novice proceduralist to safely obtain proctored experiences in the clinical setting. The primary audience includes physician trainees, advanced practice providers (APRNs and PAs), and students pursuing those roles. This course is also appropriate for practicing clinicians who are incorporating ultrasound-guided central venous access as a new skill to their practice.

This self-directed course develops the practitioner's knowledge of health care reasearch. The course teaches fundamental concepts of research ethics and gives extensive instruction in the development of a research project, from initial idea to a published paper. Along the way the student wil learn the basics of measurement theory with some hands-on experiments to demonstrate measurement principles. Computerized data acquisition will be introduced. Basic statistics common to health care research will also be covered.

The Simulation Educator Workshop is for healthcare educators, directors or faculty of a current or prospective simulation program. The course combines customized peer-to-peer and mentor feedback during an online learning session followed by an immersive, two-day in person, interactive workshop.

The Simulation Educator Workshop for Experienced Debriefers is for healthcare professionals who have participated in the Simulation Educator Workshop and have experience facilitating simulation training. This is a one-day, interactive, CME, course that focuses on identifying challenges and implementing effective strategies to provide for successful debriefing.

The Simulation and Advanced Skills Center (SASC) at Cleveland Clinic sponsors a three-tiered simulation training program, which offers different opportunities and experiences based on the interests and goals of the applicant. These programs are the Simulation Research Fellowship, the Simulation Education Fellowship, and the Simulation Facilitator Elective. The overall mission of these programs is to develop leaders with vision, knowledge, and commitment to implement simulation-based training strategies with the aim to improve healthcare for patients at Cleveland Clinic.
Simulation Research Fellowship
This is a two-year, project-based, longitudinal experience focused on developing excellence in the areas of teaching, assessment, curriculum development, and simulation research.
Simulation Education Fellowship
This is a one-year, project-based, longitudinal experience focused on developing excellence in the areas of teaching, assessment, and curriculum development.
Simulation Facilitator Elective
This program is a six month commitment that provides basic training in the implementation of a formal simulation based curriculum. Mentees are accepted according to the availability of mentors, with variable start/end times. There will be no funding of this position by the Education Institute.

The use of ultrasound to diagnose and guide procedures is growing rapidly and you don't want to be left behind. This growth is primarily fueled by data indicating that ultrasound can improve the success rate of various procedures while decreasing complications. This ultrasound workshop will provide you with current state-of-the-art techniques for diagnosis and guiding procedures. You will be able to incorporate the lessons you learn by attending this workshop into your clinical practice.
